Maps and Diagrams Solving in IELTS Listening. Most students find it difficult to solve maps and diagrams in the IELTS Listening section.

Well, this sort of question requires to identify the different parts of the map or plan by listening to and understanding a description or following directions. You will, therefore, be listening to a person describing a map or plan or to someone showing a group of people around and you have to follow their directions.

In this sort of question, you may be asked to give possible answers from a list or sometimes to fill in the gaps. Here's is a sample video, related to filling up the gaps for map labeling. IELTS Academic Writing Task 1 test 1 Cambridge 7 Sample Answer Question: The table below gives information on consumer spending on different items in five different countries in 2002. Summaries the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant. Write at least 150 words. Sample Answer: The table depicts the percentage of national expenditure consumed in five different countries Ireland, Italy, Spain, Sweden and Turkey on three different items in 2002. Food or drinks or tobacco were in the most important position on consumer spending in all of the five countries. The national consumer spent on food or drinks or tobacco was 32.14% in Turkey which was the highest percentage among all countries, followed by Ireland with 28.91. The remaining three countries spent almost similar on that item. Clothing and footwear were the second most important consumer in these countries and in Italy, it was 9% and in Sweden consumed 5.4%.
