Title: IELTS Band Scores and How IELTS Scores Are Calculated? What is IELTS? ILETS stands for International English Language Testing System. It is an international standardized test of English language proficiency for non-native English language speakers which is jointly managed by the British Council, IDP: IELTS Australia and Cambridge Assessment English. How the Band Score is Calculated Each of the four  components is scored on a band scale  from 0 to 9. The overall band score is calculated by taking the average of these four scores and rounding to the nearest half or whole band.
