It is an international standardized test of English language proficiency for non-native English language speakers which is jointly managed by the British Council, IDP: IELTS Australia and Cambridge Assessment English. How the Band Score is Calculated Each of the four  components is scored on a band scale  from 0 to 9. The overall band score is calculated by taking the average of these four scores and rounding to the nearest half or whole band.
